0:00 - Intro 1:07 - Upper Body Technique 3:10 - Body Oscillation for Ring Sport 4:38 - Shoulder Targeting Technique 7:30 - Targeting with a Dog 8:25 - Miles doing Shoulder Technique In this episode of Behind The Stick, In-Depth Dog Training, Miles Narnor shares some insight and pointers about upper-body decoy techniques useful for protection sport dog decoys that incorporate esquives, scoops and maneuvers related to entry bites. In French Ring, the decoy wears a full-bodied padded suit that the dog is allowed to bite in any location. For a dog to be more successful in the sport it is beneficial for them to learn how to find secondary targets that appear due to the natural movement of the body and the oscillation between the arms and legs. Miles discusses how to develop the correct upper-body movement and how to teach a dog to anticipate those secondary targets. Miles trains with Darrion as he works a young Belgian Malinois named "Caius" doing preliminary leg and arm bites using back-pressure, as well as a seasoned female Belgian Malinois named "Lady" as she demonstrates her upper-body technique.
