Plane Spotting Brussels Zaventem 13-6-2021 | Government Specials & Cargo Haulers

I had a fantastic plane spotting day at Brussels Zaventem Airport earlier this month! Because of a NATO summit in the city, a lot of very interesting aircraft visited the airport. The weather was beautiful and I caught a lot of amazing aircraft! Let me talk you through the day. First I visited the spottingplace next to runway 25L. It was the first time I came here since the airport built a spotting platform here. It's a great place but I did not stay long there because more interesting stuff was heading for runway 25R. A Virgin Atlantic A350-1000 was due in and because it did a cargo flight, it would go to runway 25R. And so it did. I caught this bird for the first time! Spotting 25R landings is difficult from the south side of the approach but the other side is not good most of the day due to the position of the sun. One spot which was sort of reasonable was at the entrance of a cemetry. The aircraft are not long in view. But better than this is just not possible so I spotted here for a bit. Highlights here were an Ethiopian Cargo B777F, ANA B787-8, the Brussels Airlines A319 Bruegel Belgium Icon livery (first time catch for me), Sichuan Airlines Cargo A330F (again a first catch), DHL A300F, and a Belgium Air Force C-130. During a gap in the movements, the runways switched to runway 01 landings. Here is a pretty nice spot (again next to a cemetry). It became a very nice afternoon of filming landings here with a ton of highlights and a lot of aircraft which I caught for the first time! Royal Air Maroc B787-9 Albania Government A319 Hungary Air Force A319 Lithuanian Air Force Alenia C-27 Spartan (caught this aircraft before at Rotterdam a few years ago) DHL A300F AmeriJet B767-300F (new airline for me) Turkish Government A330-200 (with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan onboard) Turkish Government A319 Virgin Atlantic A330-300 Czech Air Force A319 Slovak Republic A319 DHL B777F with 007 logo Kalitta Air B747-400F DHL hybrid livery Croatia Government Bombardier Challenger Austrian A320 Retro livery Sky Express A320NEO (new airline for me) At the beginning of the evening the runways switched to 25s again. I made a pretty terrible shot of the Brussels Airlines A320 with The Smurfs livery and a Learjet from the Montenegro government. Better shots were made of the Brussels Airlines A320 Red Devils livery and a Azul A330NEO which concluded this amazing day at Brussels Airport.
