Vigil Mass In Honour Of Hon Chief G.O.E Akpata Held At Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Okhoro, Benin City The vigil mass of late Hon chief G.O.E Akpata was held on 25th of February, 2026 at Holyspirit Catholic Church, okhoro Benin city was a spectacle to behold. The solemn vigil Mass in honour of the late Hon chief G.O.E Akpata, brought together family members, friends, and well-wishers who gathered to pay their final respects and celebrate his life. In his message, the parish priest, Holy Spirit Catholic Church Rev father John Ugo, reflected deeply on the meaning of life, reminding the congregation that life is a journey entrusted to humanity by God and that every individual will one day give account of how that life was lived. He encouraged the faithful to live righteously, love one another, and remain prepared at all times, noting that death is a passage that no one can escape. The mass which featured prayers of the faithful by family members, Holy Communion, prayers for the repose of soul of the departed provide an opportunity for the children of the deceased to read heartfelt tributes, describing their late father as a loving, supportive, and a dedicated man whose impact will remain unforgettable. In a vote of thanks, grandson of the diseased , Aisosa omorogbe expressed deep appreciation to everyone who came to mourn and stand with the family during this difficult time. He thanked attendees for their prayers, presence, and support. In an interview with broad tv news, some of the children and grandchildren described the late Mr. Akpata as a very good man who sacrificed greatly for his family. They noted that he trained and supported them to different levels in life and will be greatly missed.
