Jersey’s Fire and Rescue Service is based at Rouge Boullion, Fire HQ. The service also has another premisies, known as the Western Station, in Les Quennevais which is mainly used for retained (part-time) firefighters. The service is made up of four different Watches (teams); Blue, Green, White and Red. The Watches work on a shift pattern that includes days, nights and weekend work. As well as responding to fire and rescue incidents, a big part of a firefighters’ role is to provide prevention advice to islanders and carry out safety checks and homes and commercial buildings.
