Sales have surged sevenfold in a year, with most users buying privately as NHS access remains limited. Health Secretary Wes Streeting says Ozempic-style injections could “defeat obesity” and has vowed to expand NHS access, arguing it’s unfair that only the wealthy can afford them. Private prices have soared to nearly £400 a month, with a summer stockpiling rush triggered by Donald Trump’s demand that foreign buyers pay more for US-made drugs.
