#2ndamendment #wyattearp #tombstone #movies #colt #buntlinespecial #legends #westerns #western Legends were made in the waning years of the 19th century, and the story of Wyatt Earp is among the most famous. Known for his no-nonsense approach to enforcing the law, Wyatt practiced law across the West from Dodge City to Tombstone and participated in many gunfights, never being hit once. The Buntline special was a fabrication brought to life by an author named Bunt, who wrote dime-store novels, fictionalizing the exploits of men like Wyatt. He wanted Colt to produce a firearm that would further the legends and mystery surrounding his larger-than-life characters. So he supposedly commissioned these 12-inch-long special revolvers specifically for Wyatt and some others. No records exist to prove this story, but it serves to prove the fascination with the American West that readers all across the country had. The earliest movies were westerns and to this day, cinema has made these stories permanent, and for better or worse, some falsehoods have become associated with them. Such is the legend of whether or not Wyatt carried such a revolver. Regardless, the buntline special is an iconic piece of Americana. #Ubertirevolvers1873 #SASS #cowboys #cowboyguns follow me on social media: Facebook- https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?...
