The men’s 10 km sprint in Hochfilzen delivered one of the most intense races of the early 2025/2026 biathlon season. From the opening kilometer, the tempo was explosive: constant position changes, high-speed skiing, and decisive shooting duels kept the intrigue alive until the very end. Dmytro Pidruchnyi started strongly but suffered three early misses. Jesper Nelin opened with perfect shooting, while Sturla Holm Strømsheim and several other top contenders faltered on the range. Niklas Stalder and Lukas Hofer impressed with clean prone stages, and Émilien Jacquelin briefly led before a disastrous standing stage ended his race. Tommaso Giacomel delivered a flawless performance — perfect 10/10 shooting and brilliant ski speed — securing a dominant victory. Eric Perrot pushed hard but finished 2.4 seconds behind, while Philipp Horn claimed third place, only six seconds back.
