Executuve Lounge, Runway View, Room Serive & Swimming Pool - We booked a runway view executive room for a cost us around $240. The room does not disapoint and the view is awesome. The room comes with all the amenities you would expect. Tea and coffe making facilities with this fancy kettle. Bath robes and towels. Boring reading materials and a safe for your important things. The fridge is unfortutly not stocked with vodka. We had a little look at the room service menu, and everything looks yummy. This outlet for the TV is very handy, however it did not appear to work with my computer. We nip down to check out the 2 bar/restaurants on level 3. We had just missed the bar lunch menu , It stops serving at 3PM.With the main restaurant opening at 5PM so we are stuck in a foodless limbo. So trying not to waste the trip we have a light refresment. (being used to london pricing the round was quite cheap £9, or maybe rarther my girfreind having a non alcoholic beverage) We pass the main restaurant that openes at (5) and contimlated eating here later. Simply turn up at the heath and fitnes center to use the pool, there is a sign in sheet where you put your room number etc, you will get towels and cards to use the lockers. We arrived on a sunday so im not sure what time it closes weekdays, it was 8PM when we stayed. It also has a sauna and steame room cool. Room Service - We ordered room service from the lobby due to the telephone debarkle. Only to be told even the speed dial keys still require a ‘0’ to be pressed, (i should have known better really but it didnt say that anywhere in the room) We are told it will be 30-45 mins, so i set emily up in the room watching finding dory, and i nip to the Executive lounge for a vodka, no soon have i poured it my phone dings. Yes, the food came up in about 10-12 mins. Emily was very pleased with the room service. My pizza was slightly tough in the base but otherwise tastey. The room service prices are reasonable but be aware that there is a flat 5 charge for each order, even if its just ordered a coke. The executive lounge only serves alcohol from 4PM till it closes at 9PM, but its open early serving light bites and refreshments. Its self serve, they have a nice collection of spirits and this that ive never seen beofre, wines, beers, and soft drinks. Fruit and crisps are round to the side. The selection of food is always changing throught the day, in the evening there was samosas and some type of spring rolls. If you can read there is a full compliments of papers and magazines. The view is pretty awesome, and ever changing as day turns to night and the lights start to appear. With the free booze cut off, I nipped to Terminal 1 arrivals where there is a 24HR big SPAR (normal prices), its only a 4min walk if you dont get lost, to get a bottle of pepsi max and half a vodka. I also grabbed some sausage rolls for emily as shes a fussy eater when it comes to planes. I did get slightly lost on the way back and bumed into a smelly person sleeping on the floor :/. On my return 20mins later, emily would did not anwser the door, I didnt want to wake her so I headed downstairs for an aditional key. awww bless her. So i poured my drinks and nipped to the foyer on our floor as not to disturb her. I could not fault the stay here, the convenience factor is priceless and really saves time giving you a more relaxing airport experience before you fly.
