Episode 46 – 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (Spoiler Apocalypse Edition) Alright you beautiful little rage-monsters… this is the one where we absolutely do not give a single flying fuck about your spoiler safety. We went to the theater two days after release, kicked the door in like infected parkour goblins, and watched 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple on the biggest screen possible… then immediately came home and spoiled the ever-living shit out of it for you. And holy hell… we loved it. Like… stand up, clap, wipe a tear, then headbang loved it. Ralph Fiennes shows up as the most glorious, unhinged, flame-drenched, cult-leader-from-hell Old Man’s Child cosplayer imaginable… and then — because this movie understands its audience — he launches into a full fire-filled ritual dance to Iron Maiden’s “Number of the Beast.” Yes. That actually happens. Yes. We lost our goddamn minds. Metal. Horror. Cult nonsense. Flamethrowers. Ralph Fiennes summoning Satan with jazz hands. Cinema is back, motherfuckers. We also scream in joy when Jim returns in the final act, because after that evil little tease in the last film with “zombie Jim,” we were emotionally prepared to riot in the streets. Seeing him alive again felt like finding your favorite band’s old demo tape in a dusty box behind the bar. But then there’s… Spike. The main character. The child. The walking, talking, plot-derailing safety hazard. Mike declares Spike his least favorite character in the history of fictional humans and proceeds to spend half the episode verbally beating this kid with a metal folding chair made of pure disappointment. This child makes so many catastrophically stupid decisions that we even flash back to Episode 21, where Mike already called him an idiot more than seven times — and somehow Spike has managed to get even dumber since then. It’s a masterclass in: “How are you still alive, you absolute turnip?” Expect: Spoilers Screaming Metal elitism Cult jokes Fire worship Mike going feral over Spike Ralph Fiennes being the coolest weird old bastard in modern horror And us openly simping for Iron Maiden inside a zombie apocalypse If you haven’t seen 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple yet… Turn back now. If you have… Come join us in the Bone Temple and let’s scream about it like civilized metal goblins. 🤘💀 Podcast: • Moonjuice Metal Horror podcast!
