Have you ever wondered why some Christians are good practices like praying, attending church, or reading the Bible? Whether you’re a newly born-again Christian or you’ve been following Jesus for years, trying to add these practices into our daily routine can seem overwhelming and difficult. The purpose of these healthy spiritual routines is to continue growing your faith and deepening your relationship with Jesus -- equips you to fully experience the life God designed you for. However, practicing these behaviors require you to take action and make these choices a priority on a regular basis. So if you struggle with certain spiritual disciplines more than others, you are not alone. We are each unique, and we gravitate towards some acts more than others because they are familiar to us. Also some disciplines are more active than others. Meaning the practice involves action like reading and memorizing scripture. These types of disciplines are going to require something of you and they’re going to push you to action a little bit more. While other spiritual disciplines are passive like taking a sabbath day each week to rest or taking a break from social media. The passive types are just as important as active types because they teach us to rest and be still, which is essential to spiritual health and growth. Spiritual disciplines are how we prepare for life in the Kingdom of God. There might be obstacles and difficult seasons, but when we are preparing regularly through the practice of spiritual disciplines, we don’t have to just survive. We are able to participate with God at our highest capacity...growing, learning, and becoming better at loving and serving one another just as Jesus loves and serves us. Matthew 11:29 (TPT) - Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me.
