Several different brands came up during my search for new guards for the Aprilia: Barkbusters Acerbis Hepco & Becker I had decided that I wanted a design that would allow me to move the hand controls separately from the guards, so I removed the Hepco & Becker from my list. During my googling, I also came across Highway Dirt Bike Offroad. HDB is a local company (based in Denver), and they have a rather unique design for their handguards. It's really cool to find a local company that manufactures a product that you're interested in and could possibly use. I reached out to the HDB to see if I could visit their facility and take a look at their handguards in person before buying a set. I also wanted to chat with them about their design choices, and why their product is different from the others that I had looked at. They were stoked to show me their new Aprilia Tuareg specific design, so we set up a time for a tour. Chad, with HDB showed me around their facility and we discussed the design they're using. Instead of clamping the handguards to the bar end and handlebar, HDB attaches to the bar end using a custom 18mm aluminum bolt, and then a replacement top clamp...making for a more rigid fitment. When you're moving from a dirtbike that weighs around 200lbs, up to an ADV bike that weighs more than double, the forces placed on the handguards increase pretty dramatically. That's why HDB is excited to start offering more adventure motorcycle related products because their design is stronger and well-suited to heavier bikes. I tried to pay for the guards 3 times, but Chad was nice enough to install them for free. I'll be providing some long-term feedback and review information on the channel. They also have guards for the: Yamaha Tenere 700 Africa Twin KTM 390 Adventure KTM 790 Adventure KTM 890 Adventure KTM 1290 Adventure Husqvarna Norden 901 You can get your set of HDB Hand guards here: https://hdboffroad.com/ If you like ADV content, consider subscribing to Exploready here: 🔔Subscribe to the channel here: / @exploready Video Contents - 00:00 Durability Check 00:19 Need new handguards 02:27 Meeting Chad with HDB & Product Discussion 03:29 Installation 05:43 First ride with the HDB Ultimate Handguards & Thoughts
