Rice/Bhat is our main staple diet in Nepal. There's hardly any day where we do not consume rice. But the interesting thing is we did not consume rice like this always. Our love for rice is very recent. But we import most of our rice from India creating a massive trade deficit and also recent studies have shown that rice may not be the most healthy and nutritious crop. But how did we reach here?
