Three villages of Sutanuti, Gobindapur and Kalikata were purchased by the East India Company from the Mughals. These villages were predating the Mughals but it was during that time traders were already there to setup markets. Thus began a large influx of traders and merchants from 24th August 1690 when the British decided to setup the port city of Kolkata. In this video we start with the Adyo Shraddho Ghat and walk up to the Nimtala Ghat and finish this street walk to Ahiritola Ghat. Enroute we also see the famous Bhoothnath Mandir of Kolkata. This area is also part of the three villages which cover the present day Bagbazar, Hatkhola and Jorabagan. A detailed history of this place is covered in the article below. https://soonev.com/three-ancient-ghat... The video has been shot on GoPro.
