Hi John with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and I'll show you how to install the Air Lift Load Lifter 5,000 series. It's going on a 2021 Dodge Ram 1500. So why airbags Well, today's trucks can handle a lot of weight. And you can do a lot with them even though this is a half ton pickup, they get the job done you usually have a lot of power and they're great for hauling boats, trailers, loads in the back, everything else, and they are coil spring in the back, which means they're gonna squat a little bit. If you do this often or if you have different items like a boat that weighs a certain amount or a camper that weighs a different amount these bags are adjustable and what they're gonna do is they're gonna bring your stock ride height back to level. Once they're inflated, you have 5 psi up to 100 psi. They'll provide 5,000 pounds of leveling force to get your truck back to the level ride height that it needs to be. So let's get you some real world practical effects here and you can see them in action. We're gonna go ahead and load a tank of water in here and we're gonna squat the suspension and we're gonna take it on our test course so you can actually see the stock suspension before and then the stock suspension with the addition of the airbags after. So we've got our water tank loaded and admittedly this is a lot of weight for this truck. This is about 1,650 pounds and maxing this out would be around 2000 pounds. But as you can see, the suspension is squatting and you're just gonna have a horrible ride. It's not on the bumpers down there but it's close and you'll see it in action when we take it on our test course. It's just gonna be a horrible ride. Now with the rear end compressed as much as it is, up here in the front, it does the opposite. It's actually gonna lift and take weight off of our wheels up here, which is gonna make for light steering poor contact, poor braking, and bad headlight alignment. Those headlights are gonna be shooting up, blinding people, making it hard to see at night. So this is not an ideal situation with this much weight in the back. Let's go ahead and hit our test course and see what the stock suspension does. Okay, so we're here at the course and we're not gonna have to go very fast just to see what the suspension is going to do with this much weight in the back here. You know, like I said you're going to have a lot of body roll, some bottoming out. It's just not an ideal situation. So we're gonna get the truck up just to about 10 or 12 miles an hour here and we'll try to do some kind of invasive maneuver to see the body roll and it's what we have. We have a lot of sway as you would expect from a suspension that's working harder than normal. So now that we've seen the stock suspension in action let's go ahead and get this truck in the shop and we'll get that airbag kit installed. We'll take it back out on our course. Now with our bags installed we went ahead and loaded the tank back in. Now I just have 50 psi in these bags but you can see the truck is sitting level. So more importantly how it looks, let's go see how it rides. So now we're back at the test course and already with the ride it's gonna be better. The factory ride height has been restored which means all the springs everything is gonna work how it was supposed to work from the factory. The headlights are gonna be back in alignment. The shocks can do what they need to do along with the springs as well. And again, this is just 50 psi back here but we're hauling 1,650 pounds in this truck. So we'll go back over here to the test track and we'll do an evasive maneuver where we just go left and right just to see if we have the same body roll. And of course we're not going to those airbags are doing their job of stiffening up the suspension on either side. Now we're just doing about 13 miles an hour or so, but it's already better. These are going to be a big improvement when you're hauling heavy trailers or heavy cargo. So now that we got to see them in action we got 'em inside here to take a closer look. And these are actually what they look like installed on the vehicle. These installed where the factory bump stops used to be. And these bags can adjust from 5 psi all the way up to 100 psi. They can provide up to 5,000 pounds of lifting force. These things are a good option if you're hauling
