In this video, Steve Smith of Edibles Permaculture Farm demonstrates how much soil there is in the world. Soil on which we depend for growing enough food to feed humanity and the natural world. Using an apple, Steve removes segments to reveal the alarming truth about how little soil there is on earth and how vital this resource is. Plant Stories is a creative writing project by writer Jamie Rhodes, funded by Arts Council England. Plant Stories uses story immersion to engage people with nature by using writing, illustration and storytelling, to explore, celebrate, and strengthen bidirectional care dynamics between people and plants.
