Hard Cataract-Lens Coloboma

Lens coloboma refers to chronic loss of zonules in certain clock hours leading to change of shape in crystalline lens in related clock hours. It might be congenital or acquired, latter usually result of blunt trauma in childhood. Management of cataract in such patients might be challenging as there is a high risk of intraoperative progressive zonulolysis & dislocation of cataract. We demontrate a case where we have successfully managed a such a case. Gentle intraoperative manouvering and avoiding stress on remnant zonules is essential for successful outcome. Possibility of amblyopia and guarded visual prognosis should be kept in mind
