This is the beginning. Removing 140 acres of conventional, poisoned, and tillage agriculture to something..... better. Exactly what it ends up, who knows, but it won't be poisoned, it won't be dead. It will grow food and hope. Approximately 1 mile east of Alicia, AR, twenty miles west of Jonesboro, Arkansas, is a mile-long and narrow field which has been conventionally row-cropped for decades, generations even, and that is coming to an end. I hope to have some amount of market-type gardening, as time and labor allow, perhaps eggs and whatever else can sustain itself. I also hope it will be an experimental, educational, and inspirational site, where we can trial and demonstrate multiple types of farming and gardening, with and without animals, as well as areas that have been simply allowed to regenerate without intervention. What would nature do if left alone? What plants and animals would arrive, in what density, and at what timeline? How does the soil respond to each treatment? It's a bit of a "build it, and they will come" effort as well. If we.. If "I" do anything right, word will get out, those genuinely interested and willing to be inspired will find us, and hopefully stay. I care not to feed the world... I wish to feed myself, my family, and make a positive impact in my community.
