VENICE, CA — Thursday, February 12, 2026 — A coordinated multi-agency cleanup operation took place Thursday morning at Westminster Dog Park in Venice as the City of Los Angeles continued sanitation and public-safety efforts. The operation was led by the Department of Public Works, with support from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Environmental Compliance Inspectors (ECI), Clean Harbors Environmental Services, the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA), and a homeless coordinator from the office of Councilwoman Traci Park. The joint response brought together enforcement personnel, sanitation crews, hazardous-material specialists, and outreach teams to address camping activity and accumulated debris in the beach-adjacent park. During the operation, Environmental Compliance Inspectors contacted two individuals who were camping inside the park. A large tent, mattress, barbecue grill, and numerous personal items were observed at the site. The individuals were advised to gather their personal belongings and vacate the area so sanitation crews could proceed with the scheduled cleanup. They were given time to pack personal property and instructed to leave behind trash or damaged materials for collection and disposal. The individuals complied and departed the park with their belongings. Public Works crews then cleared the remaining debris from the site. Representatives from Councilwoman Park’s office assisted with on-site coordination, while LAHSA outreach workers offered access to supportive housing and mental health resources. No arrests or citations were reported. Santa Monica Closeup continues to document public events of local significance across the Westside, including homelessness outreach, law enforcement activity, and coastal cleanup operations. #Venice #HomelessSweep #PublicSafety #LawEnforcement #Unhoused #Homelessness #cops __ ⚠️ 𝗖𝗢𝗣𝗬𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗘 This video is protected by copyright and provided for personal viewing only.
