1980s Peter Petz Coin Operated Carousel Kiddie Ride - Merlin's Classic

Filmed at Manning's Amusements, Felixstowe on October 23rd 2017. Manufactured by Peter Petz of Germany, this traditional-style 3-seater carousel was released in 1987. I don't know a lot about this beautiful ride but presume it has some kind of connection to Marvin's Marvellous Mechanical Museum in Michigan due to the name and the fact that their logo often features on the rounding boards. The only information I've been able to find online about it indicates that it was first displayed at an exhibition in London though and, considering the Mechanical Museum didn't open until 1990, one can only presume their tie to the ride must have happened at a later date. If anyone has further information, I would love to hear from you! This particular model doesn't feature the Marvin branding. Instead, it has "The Springfield Carousel 1892" written on the rounding boards. Maybe this is an older model.
