At the 2026 Conservative Party Political Action Conference, Assemblymember Kalman Yeger and New York City Council Member Inna Vernikov tackled one of the most urgent moral and public policy challenges of our time: the alarming rise of anti-Semitism in New York and across the nation. Representing large Jewish communities and speaking from firsthand experience, Yeger and Vernikov detailed the disturbing increase in anti-Jewish hate crimes, hostile campus environments, and rhetoric that has moved from the fringe into the mainstream. They discussed the cultural, political, and institutional factors contributing to this surge—and the consequences of silence or weak leadership. The session focused on concrete solutions, including stronger enforcement of existing laws, holding institutions accountable, protecting students and houses of worship, and building coalitions to defend religious liberty and public safety. Both lawmakers emphasized that confronting anti-Semitism requires moral clarity, courage, and unified action. Attendees left with a deeper understanding of the scope of the problem and practical steps to push back against hate in their own communities. This session was sponsored by Roger Melzer and Richard P. Nespola. Like, subscribe, and share for more important conversations and highlights from the Conservative Party.
