Enumeration Phase: The session began with scanning the target machine to identify open ports and services, using tools like Nmap with various parameters to gather detailed information about potential entry points. Exploitation Phase: Mobus, a Student Mentor, demonstrated exploiting identified vulnerabilities to gain access to the system. He showed the use of different scanning techniques and parameter adjustments to refine the attack approach. Privilege Escalation: After gaining initial access, the focus shifted to elevating privileges to gain full control of the machine. The demonstration included finding writable configuration files, modifying them, and using reboot commands to execute changes with root privileges.
