You can't prepare for everything in life especially when you don't know the future. You just pray, put your best foot forward, pray, keep going and pray some more. We tour Spice Island Marina, remove our sails and wait for Monday. Why do we need to remove our mast? The wooden mast base experienced water intrusion and over the past several months it has rotted. Currently giving way to the mast plate in which the weight of the mast is now sinking into the boat. At least that's what we know. What we don't know... The intensity of the damage. Where is the water coming from? Has the integrity of the bulk head been compromised? All these questions and answers can make or break the future of our family sailing the oceans on Ego Domi ......
