In this recording I offer you some keys to understanding Freud's text called "The Future of an Illusion". It is a harsh criticism of religion but which paradoxically attempts to rehabilitate it through its illusory dimension but nevertheless comforting and necessary for a kind of social cohesion. We will see how religion comes to offer a new source of constraints to internalize within the framework of an education of our own "superego" and how the replacement of the father as parental authority by the heavenly father is a powerful spring for man in search of reference points in the face of a world he does not understand and a feeling of helplessness dating back to childhood.
