In this raw and honest conversation, we open up about growing up in a lower-middle class family in Ranchi, where our parents had to choose between food and our school fees. At one point, we had to decide if we will pay my college fees or Ritwik’s school fee? The journey from such a place to both of us getting into IIMB has not been easy, but it is a journey we are really proud of! We don’t just talk about the highlights and achievements, but the real story behind them - Our journey growing up, the struggles, the little wins that meant everything back then, the challenges we faced, the values that were instilled in us, and the moments that shaped who we are today. We hope that by opening up about our story, you’ll find something you can relate to, something that makes you believe that dreams do come true. Because dreams don't ask about your background they just need your belief. For the ones here for the first time, here’s a quick introduction, I am Riya, and with me in this video is my younger brother Ritwik. We were born and brought up in a very lower middle class family in Ranchi, but the only respite was that we had a very strong mom. I went on to give JEE, and study ECE at NIT Jamshedpur, post which I worked as a management trainee and then a manager at Tata Steel, and then did an MBA from IIM Bangalore graduating in 2024, where I started this channel Riyalizations and this podcast, to help students with their CTA Prep, share insider info about top Bschool and document my journey. Post my MBA I have been working in Consulting. Ritwik on the other hand did his Compute science Engineer from LNCT Bhopal, and worked as an Associate consultant in Oracle. He left his job in July 2024 to prepare for CAT and now has admits from IIM B,C, K ,L, FMS, SPJIMR and others, and has decided to choose IIM B.
