College students from across the state are invited to join a series of virtual programs presented by staff members at the Museum. Get a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to work at the NCMA. Hourlong presentations include representatives of the Exhibition Design, Museum Park, Photography, and Registration departments. First up is Kathryn Briggs, exhibition designer. Exhibition Design takes concepts from curators and others to create in-gallery and online experiences though the use of design principles, drafting, planning, and installation. About the presenter A graduate of East Carolina University with a BFA in sculpture, Exhibition Designer Kathryn Briggs has always been interested in 3-D. As part of her career trajectory, she worked at a private exhibition house, learned a lot, and had the opportunity to contract at many museums. Briggs came to the NCMA 13 years ago and loves it.
