Genoa and its surroundings are the final destination of my Eurotrip in search of the best place to immigrate. I liked Liguria for its warm sea, long strip of beaches, antiquities, beauty and proximity to Milan International Airport. Not far from Genoa, in the resort town of Savona, live my colleague, journalist Tamara, and my new friend Alsu, who helps Russian speakers obtain an Italian residence permit. Having talked to them, I learned about the pros and cons of living in Italy, the simplest and most accessible types of residence permits for people aged 45+, the cost of living, leisure and other equally important things. But my acquaintance with Genoa was not limited to just “everyday life”. I immersed myself in the medieval beauty of the Old Town, visited the most famous palace of the Genoese aristocrats and admired the local port, transformed into an avant-garde art space. In short, there will be a lot of beauty for the eyes and “usefulness” for life.
