Wine-Searcher's Wine Director, David Allen MW, has been in Bordeaux attending the annual en-primeur tastings. Today's video is a tasting he recorded in the offices of JP Moueix, in Libourne - the Moueix family own Chateau La Fleur Petrus. David tastes an en-primeur sample of the 2023 vintage. The estate lies in the eastern portion of Pomerol, and is widely regarded as one of that region's top estates. The wine is Merlot-dominant, and is known for its finesse, elegance and age-worthiness. The estate vineyard extends to just under 19 hectares (46 acres) and in 2004 was is planted chiefly to nd is planted chiefly to Merlot (96.5%) with 3% Cabernet Franc and 0.5% Petit Verdot. The core vineyard lies across the road from Château Petrus, adjacent to Château Lafleur. The property was bought by Jean-Pierre Moueix in 1953.
