The collection featured 2388 pairs. Every shoe is brand new, in the original box, and in my size range of 11 - 12, with very, very few exceptions. The ShoeZeum was first unveiled in San Diego in 2010 and was moved to Las Vegas in 2012. It has been featured on the front cover of 2 major newspapers (San Diego Union Tribune and Las Vegas Review Journal). It has been on ESPN several times. It has been on SKEE Live 3 times and on countless other TV shows and news stations, including Pawn Stars on the History channel. When the ShoeZeum was first unveiled in San Diego, Sneaker News came and took a trip down and spent the weekend with me. They did 10 separate stories on the collection and stated, "The ShoeZeum is not just the most impressive sneaker collection on earth, but just might be one of the best collections of anything." Following the coverage from Sneaker News, the CEO of Nike, Mark Parker, and other top Nike executives boarded their private jet and started visiting the ShoeZeum. After the Nike executives visited, the ShoeZeum was opened up to the general public. In San Diego, people paid $23.23 to visit and they were given back $5 in cash at the door if they wore Nikes. In Las Vegas, admission was just $10. In addition to the Nike execs and the general public, I also entertained Meg Whitman (former CEO of eBay) and many professional athletes and entertainers. About the collection.... In addition to being the largest documented collection of sneakers, the ShoeZeum was also the most comprehensive collection of Nikes in the world. It included Nike Running, Nike Basketball, Nike Cross Training, Nike Tennis, Nike ACG, Nike Skateboarding, and Nike Innovation. In Las Vegas, these shoes were organized into 23 themed exhibits. A tour of the ShoeZeum illustrated the entire history of Nike, as well as my own personal story. Once guests visited, they pretty much knew everything about Nike and everything about me. About the auctions... The ShoeZeum is being listed piece by piece on eBay. eBay seemed like the appropriate place because for many years I built a successful eBay sneaker business and eBay is the place where I bought many of the shoes. Every listing begins at $0.99 and has no reserve. The listings are 10 days long. So far there are 200 items listed. I will be listing another 200 items in the upcoming days. Every day 9, 23, or 45 new items will be listed. Every pair from the ShoeZeum comes with a Certificate Of Authenticity stating that the shoes were a part of the World Famous Shoezeum.
