Welcome to a journey of fluid art healing designed for women 35-75 (anyone and Tony are welcome to join us) seeking peace and inner strength. Before we even touch the canvas, we'll begin with a short, guided meditation to realize our intent, focusing on mindfulness and deep breathing exercises for stress relief. This practice helps us find calm, making our fluid art piece a visual narrative of healing and mental health. The next video shows the actual pour. (While pouring the paint mixed in this video, the phone died, so I have to remix paints and use a different canvas to show the pour.) SUPPLIES: Artist Loft soft acrylic primary blue Artist Loft soft acrylic primary yellow Artist Loft soft acrylic primary red Artist Loft soft acrylic primary white DecoArt white satin enamel Floetrol (USA) Canvas of your size choice (I used 4 of Artist Loft Level 3 gallery wrapped canvas 4x8") Stir sticks (5 or more) 2 or 3oz cups (5 or more) 1 6-8 oz cup (to mix the base paint) potty pads for pups to absorb the paint (not required) MIXING: Pour Paints (poured onto the base paint) - 3:1 Floetrol to paint ratio. Use the same thing to measure all paints. If you use a tablespoon, mix 3 tablespoons Floetrol with 1 tablespoon of paint. Cloud Paint (this creates the "cloud" effect - 1:1 ratio 1 part DecoArt white satin enamel and an equal amount of Artist Loft white paint Base Paint - 3:1:1/4; 3 parts Floetrol, 1 part Artist Loft white paint, 1/4 part DecoArt white satin enamel paint STEPS: 1. Mix paints well in 2-3 oz cups. Stir each 3-7 minutes, scraping sides and bottom of container at least 3 times. (For better results, let your mixed paints set overnight or for a few hours. This allows time for the oxygen (air bubbles) to rise to the top and pop from your paint. 2. Set up your "Pouring My Masterpiece" space - it is important that the space is level so your design stays in tack and the paint dries evenly. Lay out the potty pads if you have them. 3. If you want to keep the back of your canvas neat and clean, use green frog tape (or any tape) and tape the back side edges. 4. Use tacks (you can use anything that you don't mind getting paint on) to raise your canvas off of any surface. 5. Pour your paint into the 6-8 oz cup. NOTE: The first paint you put in the cup is the last paint that will come out. For a bright center use light colors first and go darker as you layer. Tilt your cup and pour each paint down the side of the cup to create layers. If you want the colors mixed up, pour with cup straight and pour in the center. 6. Pour your base paint on the canvas. Tilt the canvas so the paint tilts off all sides and all corners. 7. Pour your layers (or mixed) paints starting in the center of the canvas. Jig your wrist up and down. Keep cup close to the canvas. Move slowly. Enjoy the flow of the paints! It's beautiful. To avoid a weirdness at your center, use your finger to grab the last drip of paint from your cup. 8. Tilt your paints like you tilted the base paint EXCEPT each time your paint moves, bring it back to the center before changing direction. You are stretching your paints. The stretch is more pronounced when the paint is tilted over the sides and corners and the paint is redirected. 9. Have a blast! Relax and focus on the paint flow. It's a soothing, joyful experience.
