Shobhana George Attends LDF Convention In Chengannur| Mathrubhumi News

Chengannur: Former MLA Shobhana George participated in the LDF convention held here on Wednesday. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the election campaign in Chengannur for LDF candidate Saji Cherian. Shobhana George had earlier clarified that she will campaign for LDF candidate Saji Cherian. Since 1991, Shobhana has won the Chengannur seat for three consecutive elections. In 2006, Congress replaced Shobhana with PC Vishnunath here. Later then in 2016, when she wasn't given the candidature, Shobhana contested the election here as independent candidate and received 3966 votes. Following this, she was expelled from Congress. Her candidature played a vital role in LDF taking over Chengannur from UDF.
