Nucleus Garage Shop Tour (Episode 1) ||| 52” Pexto Shear ||| Thought we’d feature a piece of the equipment that allows us to turn out our one of a kind projects. Its not that pretty, but it gets the job done and we find like many others do that the older the better when it comes to shop equipment. This 52” Pexto shear was converted from a manual stomp shear to a electrical powered shear with a 3 phase motor, makes for a quiet operation. Of course this machine couldn’t be used in a large shop environment, but it works great for us. Our feelings are older machines were made by Craftsman of the period who many times worked their entire lives in the same factory, thats a rarity nowadays. Therefore many of the specific differences which make these old machines great aren't found in todays products. Plus they weren’t afraid to use Iron, they’re heavy and it makes a huge difference in how the machine performs.
