Today We visit the farm Rancho Alegre in Vinales Valley of Pinar Del Rio on 10.25.2022 to see the effects of the Hurricane that passed through last Sept. While there was no tobacco plants anywhere, we saw destroyed barns, drying houses and broken trees snapped like twigs. The farmers still had their heads up high and were looking forward to the next growing season. We tried some great farm rolls and the prices were a little higher than in the past but the main difference now is that the farm rolls are being pushed like the vitolas from the shops in Havana, meaning that they are bigger and longer rather than previously offered (2 years ago, the average size was a corona or robusto) Prices vary but expect to pay between $8-$20 per stick but always push for a discount for buying multiple boxes or bundles.
