新城市廣場音樂噴泉，幾乎全港眾所周知的音樂噴泉，當年除了是全港首個音樂噴泉，亦被譽為全亞洲最大室內音樂噴泉(但90年代出現的荃灣廣場音樂噴泉其實更大)，同是Waltzing Waters的作品。由80年代至2003年，陪伴不少人成長，以前約會人們總會說「音樂噴泉等」。 1980-1990年是最光輝的年代，當年每場表演都會引來不少市民圍觀，噴泉表演開始前10分鐘，已經會聚集不少市民等待。除了日常的演出，新城市廣場當年還會租出中庭及音樂噴泉給電視台製作節目，節目中亦可欣賞到音樂噴泉表演，當中比較有名的節目包括《新城市廣場之夜》、《歡樂滿東華》等... 1990年代，鳳尾噴泉不知甚麼原因，噴水高度只有第一程度高，但仍然無損噴泉的可觀度，畢竟直上噴泉還能噴到7層高。 後來，後排搖擺噴泉的搖擺器損壞，5支直上噴泉和右排直式搖擺噴泉的水泵亦壞了,高度不足一米，最大問題是水燈系統損毀，令水燈不能作出變化，只能閃動白色燈。而再之後，水燈無論是演出還是試水模式，都是長亮的,再也沒有變化。 2001年起，噴泉開始經常搭建舞台，每月的演出日數不足10日。 雖然如此，噴泉仍然有持續保養，所以後期右排直式搖擺噴泉也修好了。 但有些噴泉的水泵仍是不能修復，例如山形噴泉及禮花噴泉外環只能噴到第一程度。 此外，還有些有趣事。逢星期日的17:30場次，會提早於17:10就開始表演第一首音樂,表演完一首大約5分鐘的音樂後會噴回試水模式，之後17:20會再次表演，表演音樂是鬥牛勇士進行曲，表演完結後再次噴回試水模式，然後17:30再上演一場10分鐘的表演。 而逢星期日晚上21:30的表演長度是20分鐘,比起日間的表演足足多了10分鐘。 至2003年年初，已經不斷傳出音樂噴泉會拆卸的消息，直至2003年8月，新城市廣場宣佈，為配合廣場翻新工程，音樂噴泉將會拆卸並移至戶外，因此於20/8/2003 - 31/8/2003期間舉行「光輝耀全城」為音樂噴泉作告別。2003年8月31日當晚，音樂噴泉配合著激光及煙火作告別演出，臨別依依,場面感人。 2005年，音樂噴泉搬至廣場7樓空中花園繼續演出，惟美觀度及震撼度已大減，加上地點不「就腳」，重置後根本無人知曉，演出質素日日不同，又被附近居民投訴音樂聲過大受到滋擾，以致音樂聲極細。最終，2015年初，因為電腦控制系統死機，音樂噴泉表演取消告終。 現時音樂噴泉的硬件仍然存在，幾乎每日也會噴水，但再也沒有音樂噴泉表演。 New Town Plaza Musical Fountain, it is almost a well-known musical fountain in Hong Kong.
