Echuca is a historical country town in Victoria well known for it's Paddle Steamers. The PS Pevensey, PS Canberra and PS Emmylou are some of the beautiful Paddle Steamers that roam up and down the mighty Murray River in Echuca. You can take the kids for a river cruise and experience what it was like when Paddle Steamers used to take passengers and cargo, such as wool, up and down the Murray River. You can prepurchase tickets online or buy them from Echuca on the day, depending on availability. There are lunch cruises, 1 - 2 hour cruises and even overnight cruises. Walking through the Port of Echuca you can just imagine what it was like in the 1800's and on weekends and school holidays you might like to take the kids on a horse drawn carriage to really step back in time.
