The Samyang 75mm F1.8 is the company's newest lens in their tiny but almighty range offering a focal length suitable for portraits and street photography but are not limited to those applications. I took this lens out with me to the Philippines taking a few shots of my surroundings to get a better feel for it and I must say, I'm surely not disappointed. Paired my with Sony A7 III this lens is quick to focus, offering eye-af capabilities but the newest feature that makes me excited about this lens is the custom switch on the side. Mode 1 offers the ability to use normal manual focus functions on the focusing ring but when I switch it to Mode 2, I can use it as an aperture ring just by turning the focusing ring. There will be a firmware update that will enable me to use it with other features coming later but having this sort of function on a lens this small and at this focal length is innovative and very clever on Samyang's part.
