Relaxing Palette Knife Painting ASMR: Watch as I create a vibrant painting of Country Road in Vermont using oil paint, palette knife, and a little bit of brushing. I've been wanting to push my color mixing a bit more lately so I decided to try and paint this with just a few colors. I only used yellow, blue and white paints for this. (cadmium yellow, cadmium yellow light, yellow ochre, pthalo blue, sevres blue, ultramarine, and titanium white.) That forced me to really work with the different properties of these colors and combine them in interesting ways. The painting has a much quieter feel than it might if I painted it with a full palette, but I think it really suits this hazy summer scene. In my earlier recordings, I mostly set up the camera and audio recording gear, forget about them, and get into the drawing and painting. Now I sometimes speak a little, sharing my thought process along the way. Check the playlist section if you prefer one style over the other. Each video I make has subtle variations that happen as a natural part of this process.
