Everything seems fine until Yewon hears devastating news of Eunsu's car accident out of the blue. Yewon rushes to the hospital. Outside of the operating theater, Yewon meets a young girl called Sumin, a daughter of Eunsu's sister, Eunhye. After a long operation, Eunsu survives but realizes that she is paralyzed below the waist. Eunhye, who was sitting next to her in the car, eventually dies. As Eunhye was a single parent, Sumin has now nowhere to turn to but Eunsu. After Eunhye's funeral, Eunsu, Yewon, and Sumin come back to Eunsu's apartment. Yewon tries to hang on to Eunsu regardless of what happened, but Eunsu suggests to break up, as she loves Yewon so much that she doesn't want to be a burden. On top of it, Sumin, who's been missing her mom, runs away whilst Eunsu visits the school she works for. Eunsu and Yewon find out Sumin's location and head there. It is the house in Incheon where Eunhye and Sumin used to live. There the three of them reunite. Eunsu decides that they should live together as a family. On returning home, Eunsu applies for Sumin's adoption. After a month, however, she is dismayed to hear that her application has been denied. Though people say it is impossible, the three of them try to climb over the wall of despair hand in hand like climbing ivy. But the wall of reality is much higher than they expect.
