Challenged by my son to replicate his favorite Hot Wheels vehicle, Ive been hard at work. After countless hours of design, fabrication, and testing right at home, the Mercedes "Unibogger" is finally here. Built on the Boom Racing BRX02 chassis with a stretched 390mm wheelbase and powered by a Hobbywing AXE 550 FOC R2 3300KV sensored brushless motor, this 1/10 scale Unimog is a beast in both looks and performance. Every detail—from the cab to the custom body panels—was crafted and brought to life with the Bambu Labs X1 Carbon printer. What once took factories or expensive kits to build, can now be done in your own living room. That still blows my mind.I got the Unimog firle from Cults3d, but had to pay for the stl files. Then, I had to modify it quite a bit, and fabricate my own panels, body mounts, and then the aesthetics I wanted- ie: Hood scoop, Safety whips, modified mud deflectors, the list continues. In this video, I take the Unibogger through its first proper test: deep slop, water crossings, and rocky terrain. With its two-speed transmission, waterproofed electronics, and winch system, it tackles it all. This isn’t just a trail truck—it’s a celebration of what’s possible when creativity meets modern maker tools. Also featured are a few of my other home-built 3D-printed RCs: The Black Rod: A fierce twin-motor crawler with raw attitude The Oliver Cletrac HG: A fully printed vintage crawler tractor The Elvis RC “Deere John” Trac-Crawler: A green machine that owns the mud Filming this video on the same property that served as home base for RCSparks Studio for the last 4 years is incredibly meaningful. I’m beyond grateful to be creating again — it’s an honor, and I don’t take it lightly. Thank you for being here.
