In 22 1 bc after a centuries-long period of turmoil, the warring states were unified under Qin Shi Huang - the "First Emperor". The walls are connected, and the roads connect the kingdoms. The powerful families from the former states are brought to the capital, Xian Yang. Chinese script is standardized, as are weights and measures. The reign of the Qin would be eternal or so it seemed. Just 21 years later it would all come crashing down with the last reigning Emporer- demoted to the title of King among equals and hanging himself.
