New to Steam, Don't Miss Out on This Shmup | Kaikan Review

Kaikan originally released in 2013 as freeware, with a full release following in September 2023 on Steam. The game features 6 ships, each with a unique shot type that conveys power and presence. Aesthetically, it resembles a game from the late 80s/early 90s, yet one with a concept of bullet hell. It does lean to the easier side of the spectrum, the focus being placed more on fun and score than challenge. It doesn't suggest a 1CC or a no miss bonus per stage is a given; however, not as difficult to obtain as other shmups. The freeware version of the game is still available, and although it bears a host of differences to the Steam version, the core experience is very much the same.
