It is located on the busy East Coast Main Line and on a narrow no-through road which leads to little else than farmland, and the overall ratio of trains to vehicles here is quite equal (not in this video though as a handful of vehicles did pass when I wasn't filming). There are two loud alarms at this level crossing, though they only typically sound for around 15-20 seconds at a time, as they stop sounding when both of the two full-road-width barriers have lowered. The barriers can often be expected to be lowered for long periods for numerous trains at a time to pass, some trains pass at high speeds, whilst others pass slowly, as they're either behind another train, or waiting for clearance at a junction where four tracks become two just north of here. Four separate lowerings are featured in this video, as well as a total of seven different trains, the last of which sees a Class 91 and its Driving Van Trailer, also known as an Intercity 225. These trains are becoming rare on the East Coast Main Line, and will soon be phased out completely. Apologies if the overall video may seem to drag on. Use the time stamps above to skip to the action throughout this video. Thanks for watching!
