Defeating all the bosses in Gigasword without taking damage and its ending. Ascend a tower multiple times to recover a crystal that causes humans to morph into monsters and cause the end of the world all on behalf of your owl man mentor. The final three bosses are segmented due to lots of dialogue, a checkpoint save made before the very final boss, and all three fights having a good bit of problems with them. Hitboxes are a bit wonky but your slow recovery means that for Vearst's first phase and the Pull you can attack but not recover quickly enough to dodge their next attack. It's also not uncommon to see overlapping attacks on Vearst and the Pull that make it difficult, if not impossible, to avoid damage. So I ended up using shockwave/magic spam to keep my distance as much as possible even though I'd prefer not to. Overall, this is an alright puzzle Metroidvania. The gimmick is that your gigasword weighs you down so you have to figure out how to get it through rooms. There's enough puzzles to keep things interesting and a good bit of exploration. Magic is actually really good since you have lots of mana and can spam fireballs and lightning, with healing being a full heal available 1-2 times between save points. I do think they did a good job with the pixel art and music. It's just the slow paced combat can be kind of frustrating (at the very least for these hitless fights, if you're playing normally it isn't too bad). This game is also very heavy on exposition. I usually include that for bosses but the dialogue before fighting Krail goes on a bit excessively so I cut that out. I think Vearst's initial dialogue also goes on too long but it's the final bosses (and hopefully you see what I mean). There's no fast travel either but it is intended to be implemented. This one is more of a weak recommend if you're good to deal with those downsides or if you're a huge fan of Metroidvanias but I think with some tweaks and more polish I'd more strongly recommend it. 0:00 Sloan the Executioner 1:50 Corrupted Angelroot 4:45 Verrick the Alchemist 8:45 Ollestasia 10:35 Engle the Silver Paladin 13:46 Horrid Amalgam 16:10 Asphodite Krail 17:46 The Boss Battle of WORDS (aka Vearst's Intro Dialogue) 24:06 Vearst the General 25:11 Vearst 28:04 The Final Boss Lecture 30:07 The Pull 31:35 Ending Gigasword can be purchased at https://store.steampowered.com/app/18...
