A unique concert serving sake to guests while Tokiko sang and enjoyed sake herself. While it spread throughout Japan and continued for nearly 50 years, in 2020, the concert was performed 12 times in 7 cities. We had to do our best in making necessary adjustments to meet the COVID requirements and only allowed to have 50% capacity. We had to switch from pouring sake directly from the wooden sake barrel, to giving out local sake cups processed by local breweries. In June 28, 2020, a month after the state of emergency was declared in Tokyo, Tokiko Kato held a concert at The Orchard Hall and demonstrated the ideal operation model of performance on how to cope with COVID. She will continue to perform with careful preparations. This is Tokiko Kato. I hope you are all well and healthy. 2020 was a really tough year, but despite all the difficulties, I am grateful to make Tokiko Kato Horoyoi- TipsyConcert happen. Even though we were only allowed 50% of the capacity, it was such a joy to have incredibly fun moments with the people who came to the concert. You will get to see what it was like following this message. Although we are in the midst of such difficult times and won’t get to see each other, amazing network brings us together and allows us to feel the togetherness, holding our glasses to cheer for a “kampai”.
