In this case, Dr. Carl Awh demonstrates internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling for macular hole repair using the FCI x Katalyst Surgical Micro Vacuum Pick. The Awh MVP™ enables to remove ILM and ERM without the use of forceps. It includes small micro-picks for initial engagement of the membranes. The crescent shape large smooth pick is used to aid in the initial engagement and aspiration of the membranes. The aspiration port uses active aspiration of the vitrectomy machine. In combination with the motion of the hand, it grasps membranes, removes them from the retina, and aspirates them out of the eye. Additionnaly, the Awh MVP™ comes with the exclusive and patented 19 Ga telescoping stiffening sleeve adding rigidity to 25 Ga and 27 Ga instruments, giving optimal control and precision. Simply insert the instrument into the trocar cannula and watch as the sleeve retracts back inside the shaft, providing stiffness at the extremity of the instrument for a superior performance.
