Title: Towards an ‘in-pact’ approach to IaH: capturing stories of impact in collaboration with students and educators in context Contributors: Dr Rachelle Viader-Knowles, Head of International Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Manchester Metropolitan University, Dr Benedicte Brahic Senior Lecturer in Sociology and Dept. International Lead, and Rachel Kelly - Reader in Design Education and Dept. International Lead Institution: Manchester Metropolitan University Abstract: Why is it so difficult to capture the vibrancy and value of IaH? We argue that institutional lead indicators and evaluation tools, module learning outcomes, and students’ formulations of their personal and professional narratives, can sit at odds with the potential of IaH for transformational learning. In our presentation we will outline our trajectory and experience in the systematic roll-out of IaH across one of the largest faculties of Arts and Humanities in the UK and explore how students, educators and HEIs can work collaboratively to co-develop agile measures reflecting the multidirectional and multiscalar nature of impact, in-pact.
