072023 TEEN DIES WHEN MOTORCYCLE SLAMS INTO PICKUP TRUCK

At 8:30pm EMC Fire responded to a motorcycle crash on Morgan Cemetery Road at North Woods. Units arrived to find a 2007 Honda had slammed into a Ford F-150 pickup. The driver of the Honda went into cardiac arrest on the scene. MCHD Medics initiated CPR on the scene and transported the 19-year-old male to Kingwood Hospital where he passed away just after 10:30 pm. DPS investigated the crash. They found that the Ford F-150 pickup was westbound on Morgan Cemetery and turned left onto North Woods. The 2007 Honda motorcycle was eastbound on Morgan Cemetery at a high rate of speed in the 30 mph posted speed limit. There is a dip[ in the road elevation as you approach North Woods. The pickup driver did not see the Honda and turned in front of him. The impact was so great that it pushed the pickup off the road into the ditch. A passerby stopped to help and when MCHD arrived the Honda driver went into cardiac arrest. He was transported to Kingwood Hospital where he passed away just after 10:30pm. The road was closed until almost midnight. Extreme Towing removed the Honda and Range 3 Wrecker removed the truck from the scene. The driver of the truck was not injured.
