I haven't seen functionality to skip an intro in other PS1 patches yet. It also displays "LEFT/RIGHT for diving". Pressing left or right during the intro causes the background to scroll. It only affects the background. The logo, scroll-text and fish are unaffected. The left/right buttons don't reflect the direction in which the background scrolls. The direction seems to be hard-coded and flips when the background hits the end of either side. Holding left or right always scrolls in the same direction. When the background reached the end, you have to press the button that points in the opposite direction.
