The job of laying block paving can be carried out in just a couple of days. All you need is the right tools and some basic DIY skills and you'll be enjoying your new driveway or path in no time at all! This block paving video will take you through the most popular paver designs including: The stretcher pattern: In this design, blocks are placed in straight lines, with each row slightly offset to the next. This pattern is great for curved pathways and patio areas. The herringbone pattern: Blocks are laid from the corners, with bricks at right angles to each other. This creates a strong paving structure, ideal for driveways and other areas of the garden that experience a lot of wear. The basketweave design: This pattern is created by placing two horizontally laid bricks, followed by two vertically laid bricks. This design is not ideal for driveways but it's perfect for a courtyard garden or patio. The header or border pattern: This design features a row of vertically laid bricks, also known as a simple stack pattern, around the outside of your design. This border is cemented into place to hold your bricks in position. This works very well when placed around the border of a basket weave design. Choose the right paving pattern for your home and you'll create a stunning driveway, garden path or patio that you and your family can continue to enjoy for many years...
