The last episode in series three of the cricket magazine show Gower's Cricket Monthly was broadcast on BBC 2 in September 1997. Presented by David Gower from studio TC5 at BBC TV Centre. Nasser Hussain was his studio guest throughout the programme, Features included Glamorgan winning the County Championship and Kent finishing in second place. Interviews - Steve Marsh, captain of Kent, Mark Ealham of Kent, Matthew Maynard, captain of Glamorgan and Darren Thomas, Adrian Dale, Waqar Younis and Robert Croft of Glamorgan. Jonathan Agnew reported on the ECB's plans for the future of cricket and the rejection of the MacLaurin report. Including an interview with Matthew Fleming as Chairman of the PCA, a look back at a 1966 Frank Bough BBC feauture on the then cricket in crisis, interview with Peter Anderson the CEO of Somerset. Michael Peschardt reported on the view in Australia of their successful Ashes summer including an nterview with Australia's captain Mark Taylor. A discussion on the first one day specialist England team under captain Adam Hollioake. Simon Hughes interviews Mike Atherton the test captain, and Adam Hollioake the one day captain. Simon Hughes went 10 pin bowling in Chelmsford with Ashley Cowan and Angus Fraser and interviewed both about their winter tour selection to the West Indies.
