Have you ever been used by someone who had no intention of choosing you? This is Hagar's story. And it might be yours too. Hagar was an Egyptian slave who was given to Abraham to produce a child for his wife Sarah. She didn't have a choice. She was property. And when she became pregnant with Abraham's son, she wasn't elevated or honored. She was still a slave. She was good enough to sleep with, but never good enough to marry. Good enough to produce for them, but never good enough to build with. Good enough to use, but never chosen. She was the babymama. But here's what changes everything: While everyone else used her and discarded her, God pursued her. Twice. He called her by name. He saw her when she was invisible to everyone else. And Hagar became the only person in all of scripture to give God a name: El Roi - The God Who Sees Me. 🙏 IN THIS VIDEO: -What it means to be valued for what you produce, not who you are -The babymama narrative the church doesn't talk about -How God pursues women everyone else overlooks -Why Hagar is the only person in scripture to name God -God's pattern of coming to women (not the other way around) -From slave to mother of nations: Hagar's unexpected legacy 📖 KEY SCRIPTURES: Genesis 16 - Hagar's first encounter with God Genesis 21 - God shows up for Hagar again Psalm 34:18 - "The LORD is close to the brokenhearted" 💬 FOR EVERY WOMAN WHO: Has been used by someone with no intention of choosing you Is raising a child alone because the father moved on Has been valued for what you could produce but never seen as a person Feels invisible, discarded, or reduced to your function You are not invisible. God sees you. Hagar was used for her womb and abandoned in the wilderness. Twice. But God sought her out both times. He called her by name when everyone else reduced her to "that slave woman." He gave her a promise that her son would become a great nation. Millions of people trace their lineage back to Hagar's son Ishmael. The slave woman. The babymama. The one who was invisible to everyone else became the mother of nations. Because when God sees you, it doesn't matter who used you. It doesn't matter who discarded you. El Roi - The God Who Sees - still sees you today. 📺 Subscribe for more biblical stories told from women's perspectives. 🔔 Turn on notifications for new videos. 💬 Drop a comment: Have you ever felt used but never chosen?
